John Crimber's Bio: Family and Early Life
Crimber was born to Brazilian parents, Paulo and María Crimber. His father says "John" came from English speakers struggling to say "João."
Paulo rode professionally from 1998 to 2011. He qualified for the PBR World Finals 10 times and now coaches the Florida Freedom. Three-time world champion Adriano Morães is John's godfather. John also has a younger sister.
Young John started on sheep. He won more than 20 mutton-busting titles, and the prizes once included a cow in Brazil. Brazil's rodeo scene, like that of actor Fábio Assunção's home country, runs deep in his family story.
